Remote pilots for field and inspection robots
Farms, pipelines, solar fields and wind sites are big, remote and hard to staff. Our pilots run long-range missions from anywhere and bring back data you can act on.

Updated
Field robots cover ground no crew can cover on foot, but they still meet things they do not understand: a gate left open, an unexpected leak, a panel that looks wrong. RoboPilots puts an experienced operator behind each mission, so your robots keep moving and the anomalies get a human look.
What our pilots do
Crop monitoring and precision spraying
Infrastructure and pipeline inspection
Solar panel and wind turbine maintenance
Environmental surveying and mapping
Livestock monitoring and fence patrol
How it works
Plug in. Drones connect through their flight controller, and quadrupeds and field robots through our SDK or your teleoperation stack. Video, GPS, battery state and payload sensors reach the pilot’s console.
Deploy. Pilots run missions remotely or supervise autonomous routes and take over when a robot asks for help. Long-range and multi-site missions are covered in shifts, on demand, during business hours or 24/7.
Learn. Every mission is recorded and labelled, including what the pilot found and what they did about it, so your inspection models and your maintenance team learn from the same record.
When remote pilots make sense
Remote pilots suit operations spread across large or isolated sites, where sending a crew for every inspection costs more than the inspection itself. They also suit seasonal work, such as spraying and harvest monitoring, where demand spikes for a few weeks a year. Instead of hiring and training a local team each season, you schedule pilot hours when you need them, and every mission adds to a consistent inspection record across sites and years.
Remote sites depend on the link. Before going live we review the connectivity along your routes and agree what each robot does if the link drops, so a mission degrades safely instead of stopping blind.
The data you get back
Flight logs for drones, synchronised video and telemetry for ground robots, and labelled findings with location and time. Manipulation tasks on maintenance robots can be delivered as LeRobot, RLDS or HDF5. Session replay lets your engineers revisit any finding.
Who the pilots are
Licensed drone pilots, field technicians, surveyors and operators with agriculture or energy backgrounds, trained on your robots and your inspection criteria.
Frequently asked questions
- Can pilots operate quadrupeds as well as drones?
- Yes. Quadrupeds, drones and wheeled field robots are piloted from the same console, each through its own controller or SDK.
- What if a site has poor connectivity?
- We assess connectivity before going live. Where the link is weak, robots run more autonomously and the pilot supervises, with safe fallback behaviour agreed in advance.
- Do drone missions need special approvals?
- Often, yes, especially beyond visual line of sight. Approvals are held by the operator of record, and our pilots fly within them with the licences their role requires.
- How are findings reported?
- Pilots label findings during the mission. You see them in the dashboard with the video, location and time, and they are included in your data export.
